Sumac
oil on canvas panel, 12"x16", $100
This is another morning painting from Thoreson Farm. I tried to keep my background thin and loose, and ended up with some wild color combinations. All in all, I think it's a happy little sumac, and I had fun painting it.

Otter Creek Beach, looking towards Empire
oil on canvas, 12" x 18", $200
My easel kept settling down into the sand, and the wind almost sent my canvas sailing several times while I was painting at Otter Creek. I was tired and happy by the end of this painting session, mostly because it was so funny and exhausting to be pulled and pushed around by the elements as I painted.

Elberta Hills
oil on canvas, 11"x 14", $150
I loved the way the road wound up and out of view from my painting spot across Betsie Bay on the grounds of the old Coast Guard Station.

Thoreson Farm Fields

oil on canvas, 11"x14", $150

This was from my last morning painting session of the summer with my friend Beth. I love to paint with other artists. We work on our own projects most of the time, but the breaks for camaraderie and friendly critiques keep painting from becoming a lonely endeavor. Also, I tend to paint more often when I've got a standing date to paint with someone.
